Malay newspapers

Berita Harian led with a report that Western countries and Arab nations have agreed to a resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Tamil newspapers

All Tamil dailies - Tamil Nesan, Malaysia Nanban and Makkal Osai - reported extensively on the ongoing Indian diaspora meeting in Chennai where there is a large participation of Malaysian Indians.

Tamil Nesan led with an invitation by the Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh to the people of Indian origin to come and work in India.

The daily also had MIC president S Samy Vellu lashing out at Hindraf chairperson P Waythmoorthy for making false accusations on the plight of Indians in Malaysia at the diaspora meeting in Chennai.

Makkal Osai had Waythamoorthy saying that Hindraf would continue to highlight the issues of the Indian community.

Chinese newspapers

Oriental Daily News headlined with a report that eight Chinese organisations have demanded that the issue of teaching Science and Mathematics in English be settled by March.

Sin Chew Daily reported on a scuffle between the police and lorry drivers in Johor. The lorry drivers had been protesting against their employers for ordering them to deliver goods above the weight limit of the lorries.

China Press led with a report that 12 members of a syndicate had been caught in a former policeman's residence that has been used as a storage place for smuggled gold and python skin.

Nanyang Siang Pau led with a report on the Education Ministry's decision to call five million students and teachers to participate in a demonstration to protest against the Israeli atrocities in Gaza.
