The police today recorded a statement from Selangor executive councillor Elizabeth Wong over the circulation of her nude photographs.

elizabeth wong ellie selangor interview 080408 When contacted, Wong confirmed that she was interviewed by a senior police officer for three hours beginning from 2pm.

The Bukit Lanjan assemblyperson's statement was recorded at a legal firm in Petaling Jaya.

"They asked me questions based on the police report which I had lodged on Sunday night regarding the circulation of the photographs," she said.

Earlier, Selangor police chief Khalid Bakar said her statement would assist the police in locating the person responsible for circulating the photographs.

"If necessary, police will seek assistance from the Multimedia and Communication Commission to determine the genuineness of those photographs. There are many angles to look into before we wrap up the case," he told Bernama .

Probe will not be delayed

Khalid also said that police would not delay their probe even though Wong had offered to resign as state executive councillor and assemblyperson as the two were different things.

"We have to determine many things in this case, such as the date and location the photographs were taken and the person appearing in the pictures. We promise a thorough investigation."

He advised the public not to speculate on the case as it would hamper police investigations and urged those with information to cooperate with police.
