Kenny Loh: I’ve always had my doubts about our former menteri besar Khir Toyo and this episode has finally proven me right.

How can the case of Dr Chua Soi Lek and PKR’s Elizabeth Wong be the same? One cheated on his wife and family while the other had an invasion of her privacy while sleeping! For God’s sake Khir, have some common sense.

Worse still, Chua showed no remorse over his actions during his comments to the press and blamed everyone else except himself for his action.

Question to Khir Toyo: what if someone were to take a picture of you in the public toilet doing his ‘big business’ and circulated it on the Internet? Does that mean he’ll quit his post in BN?

This guy definitely does not know how to tell the difference. I’m ashamed we have politicians with such shallow mentality in leading our largest component party.

BN is getting pretty desperate and showing lots of signs of hitting below the belt with nonsense like this.

Micheal: The political strategy employed by BN is really sickening. They will be fools if they think that the rakyat will ever believe that they have nothing to do with the circulation of Wong’s nude photos.

Why should Wong resign like the former minister who involved in sex DVD scandal? Although there was an invasion of privacy in both cases, the nature of the two events are completely different.

Wong is a victim of a criminal act while the latter was involved in a sexual act himself (ie, an extra-marital affair, so to speak).

Wong’s scenario is similar to a rapist who took photos of the victim and then distributed them. Who has committed a crime here - the rapist or the rape victim?

Of course, Khir Toyo believes that we should punish the victim, hence the call for immediate resignation.

This sandiwara will only fan the anger of the rakyat towards BN leaders who do not seem to understand the rakyat and who will never change.

Ron: It appears from Khir Toyo's statement likening Wong's nude photos and Chua Soi Lek's sex romp video, that he does not comprehend what constitutes a moral issue and what does not.

Chua was a married man committing adultery. He was caught cheating on his wife and family. It suggests that he can be dishonest, and so is unfit to be a community leader.

From the press reports, Wong's photos were taken in private and circulated without her consent by a former boyfriend. These events are no basis to judge her character. Wong is a victim in this situation.

Khir, there are many cases of women being blackmailed by former lovers. In your callous statement you have done them a gross disservice, all for the sake of cheap political mileage.

To be more sensitive to this issue, I suggest you have a chat with your coalition mate, MCA’s Michael Chong.

Barathi Tamil: Why she must quit? She has done nothing wrong. Why is Khir Toyo comparing this with the Chua Soi Lek case?

If Khir Toyo’s naked picture was circulated without his consent, would he quit?

I believe all this is a dirty game played by Khir Toyo and his gang. In fact Khir Toyo should resign first because of his act in Penang, at Umno’s anti-Karpal demo.

Toh SP: What a cheap publicity stunt from a former menteri besar. How can he equate Elizabeth Wong's circumstances with Chua Soi Lek's?

Chua Soi Lek is a married man and he was caught on video with someone who was not his wife in a hotel room whereas Wong was photograph naked in her sleep.What's so immoral with sleeping naked?

All of us will go naked sometime or other in the house, whether it is to take a bath, to change or for personal reasons.

If someone is to take a photograph of us then, is it considered immoral? In fact I empathise with Wong and will not question her morality at all.

Jesmine: Mr Khir, you are equating what happened to Soi Lek with Elizabeth Wong? You seemed to be out of touch while in office and now even as an ex-menteri besar.

At least, while not serving, take time to learn how to analyse and comment on situations before making any statement. You never fail to amuse us but then again the apple never falls far from the tree.

Politically Frustated: As expected, some wise guy from Umno made a statement asking Elizabeth Wong to quit. Khir Toyo attempted to frame the whole issue as a morality issue.

Well, the rakyat would like to know from the ex-Selangor MB which part of the whole issue constitutes as 'immoral':

a. Having a boyfriend?

b. Sleeping naked in bed?

c. Letting someone take pictures of you naked without your consent?

This would be a good exam question for our Pendidikan Moral paper. The truth is that the immoral ones are those who attempted to use dirty tactics to bring down other people's character.

These are the people who may escape the laws of the humankind but will eventually have to answer to God.

IAT: Well, well, looks like Khir is at it again, showing his upmost silliness in trying to compare moral values and in the end shows his ulterior political motives. Let's put this to an end once and for all, shall we.

Chua Soi Lek is a married man who was having an extramarital affair and was caught with his pants down. Elizabeth Wong is an unmarried woman whose photo was shot by an ex-disgruntled boyfriend without her consent and knowledge while she was sleeping.

So what does it say? That she was having a relationship with a man? What's wrong with that? She is a healthy thirty-something woman having a relationship. She is not cheating on her husband nor ‘stealing’ someone else’s husband.

Getting this out of the way, so what has she done wrong? Slept in the nude? Hey, I do that all the time. Why can't I sleep in the nude in the privacy of my own house?

And bear in mind, Khir, she is not a Muslim. So, don't try to imply that all the Islamic things apply to her.

The culprit here is the ex-boyfriend who obviously had some unholy intention in the first place and the photos were probably sold for a handsome sum to her political enemies. And who else might that be? Even the blind can see this.

To Wong, take heart. The rakyat are not blind. We know you are the victim here and not the sinful woman as Khir tries unsuccessfully to paint you as. We will support you!

Eternal Optimist: This is quite laughable. The MCA politician was video taped 'in the act'. He is a married man, and was caught with a woman who was not his wife.

This PKR politician was photographed sleeping in the bare. That's her choice surely? Furthermore, unlike the MCA gentleman, she is unmarried (at the time of the photograph).

GH Kok: Khir Toyo's comments about the photos is revealing of a man who is doing whatever it takes to destroy legitimately-elected representatives of the people.

The man and his party are on a rampage - a rampage that will destroy people's lives, the economy and democracy. A rampage that started in Perak, moved on to Kedah and now is entering Selangor.

These people are on a warpath - they will destroy anything and everything in their path in their unquenchable hunger for power. They are trying to undermine, destroy and snatch the power that we have given to those people that we elected.

This is unforgivable. They must be stopped. We, the people, must act. We have elected our state assembly persons and MPs, and now we must call on ourselves to support them.

To the people of Bukit Lanjan, and all the people of Selangor, we must express our support for Elizabeth Wong as she fights off these criminals. We must express our support for the other representatives who are fighting off these criminals every day.

It's not enough to just go out and vote every four years. The price of democracy is eternal vigilance. We, the people, are the ultimate protectors of democracy.

DS: Being nude at home within four walls is strictly my own business, aside from being my right. So why then is Khir Toyo demanding Elizabeth Wong resignation?

Morally, if one intentionally posed nude for distribution, then it is wrong. However, when one's privacy is invaded with photos being taken unknowingly, he or she is not to be blamed.

Else, what would you say if your nude photos were taken without your approval when you were taking bath or changing, or ... (you get the idea)?

Any calling of her resignation or attacking her on the incident is clearly politically motivated.

Jr Lee: Typical of BN arrogance, Khir Toyo just could not resist taking a shot at Pakatan Rakyat MP Elisabeth Wong, urging her to resign without first examining all the facts of the case.

Wong's case is totally different from MCA Dr Chua's case as the latter was caught red-handed in his fleshly recreation. In her police report, Wong said that it was a total violation of her privacy which means that someone had taken advantage of her privacy and severely damaged her dignity and this is a breach of the law.

What would Khir Toyo say if someone took photographs of his wife or daughters naked while they were changing clothes inside a changing room of a department store and posted them at the Internet?

Being a husband, a father and a former menteri besar, Khir Toyo should show more sympathy when the privacy of a decent lady has been violated instead of exploiting the case to his political advantage.

Khir Toyo's remarks are uncalled for and only demonstrate his lack of human sympathy, poor judgment and exploitative behaviour.

Lim Keat Hoe: What two consenting adults do behind closed doors is their concern and theirs only.

In this case, it is even more unfortunate that Wong seems to be the victim of a betrayal by her partner.

The Umnoputras have no basis to take the moral high ground. Their immoral and unscrupulous grab of power in Perak have shown them to be the corrupt ones willing to do anything to justify the ends.

Appum: I am sorry to read how shallow is the thinking of a so-called doctor in requesting Elizabeth Wong to resign just because some private photos were circulated in public by some lowdown person whose behaviour is nothing better than an idiot.

As a doctor, how is it that he is not able to differentiate between Chua Soi Lek's case against Wong’s case? Let me explain to this doctor dentist (qualified from where?).

Chua's case is a case of pure infidelity, a case of a married man, a leader, a minister who cheated on his wife whilst in active service. But can you blame your wife if someone, with vile motives, sets up a secret camera in her bathroom and takes pictures of her naked, and then makes them public?

Isn't this an intrusion into someone's privacy? We expect our qualified politicians to show more quality thinking and express more intelligent opinions rather than just rattle off to reflect their shallowness of thought.

In fact, on such an issue as this which intrudes into someone's very private moments, I would expect some kind of bipartisanship to condemn the action of a socially sick-minded person.

Let us condemn such acts of privacy invasion in our society and not the victim, no matter which political party they are with.

I would have respected you more, doctor, if you had condemned the perpetrator rather than the victim. Do you think you have gained political mileage by such calls for resignation, doctor? Fikir baik-baik la .

I call on all Malaysians to condemn such persons who do such vile acts so that in future they will think twice before carrying out such baseless acts. I really hope the police will haul up this sick person and teach him a lesson on society's expectation of moral behaviour .

Best Politics: I refer to Khir Toyo's call for Elizabeth Wong to step down after nude pictures of her sleeping - in her own room - an unmarried woman - got circulated around, and I am really inspired.

I'll try my best to take pictures of those bad politicians sleeping or doing something naked. Then, according to Khir Toyo's logic, they'll need to resign.

So, let's just put some spy-cams in as many places to catch Khir Toyo naked, perhaps sleeping as well, then he will have to resign! Simple!

Sean Chen: I'm appalled by the judgements coming from our ex-ministers. The ability to discern and judge is a crucial and fundamental skill for anybody and more so for a senior minister.

The statements of our ex-Selangor menteri besar clearly reflect the lack of that skill in our government. For that I truly weep. Based on whatever information I have, the following would be the differences.

Dr Chua Soi Lek was caught in action for having an affair with another woman. It's called adultery.

Elizabeth Wong's pictures were taken while she was sleeping. Without her knowledge. It's called being taken advantage of by an unscrupulous person.

Dr Chua Soi Lek is married. Elizabeth Wong is single and an adult. What happens behind closed doors is her business and is really of no concern to us.

So if she has to resign because of being photographed naked, does a minister who is kidnapped and later stripped and nude pictures taken have to resign? Are we as a society that shallow?

We are ready to pass judgement on a person by virtue of the person was photographed naked without looking into the circumstances surrounding it.

Alice: I am saddened and disgusted that some people will sink so low as to invade Elizabeth Wong’s privacy and publish photos taken in her own home.

What is even more disgusting is when politicians such as Khir Toyo insists she must quit, just like Chua Soi Lek.

Khir Toyo obviously can’t distinguish between what is morally wrong and what is a gross violation of one’s privacy in one’s own bedroom. Just because Wong’s nude pictures were published, according to him, she must quit.

Khir Toyo, if someone is able to secretly install a camera in your bedroom, take a nude photo of you and then publish it, would you quit?

Let’s get one thing clear - if Wong is doing a good job, let her be. If she sleeps in her bedroom in the nude, so what?

Sleeping in the nude is not a crime, but taking her photos and publishing them without permission is. Let’s not punish the victim – go get the perpetrator.

Millionth Citizen: I like to know if this doktor gigi actually know the meaning of immoral. Him calling what happened to Elizabeth Wong immoral is a reflection of the man's knowledge of English.

Does he know what immoral in this context means? Or is he so politically motivated to the point that he has lost shame and respect for womenkind.

Question: During who's administration were temples in Selangor torn down? Who stole land and alienated state land to their cronies? Whose administration illegally changed the status of reserved land to development land?

So, do not throw stones when you also live in a glass house.

Ko-han Wai: The circulation of the photographs are really in bad taste. The person who started all this is immoral and not even fit to be an animal or a prostitute even. How much was paid for these photos and clips?

In my opinion, this ‘person’ is willing to sell his own mother for the right price. He deserve to be hanged in public view.

Politicians like Khir Toyo that play up this issue are not only immoral but ‘cheap’ as well. It has totally nothing in common with Chua Soi Lek’s video clip.

BN’s reputation is bad enough as it is without such politicians running their mouth off. Come to think of it, the more they do it, the better for Pakatan Rakyat. Keep doing it and we will know what to do in the next election.

As for Elizabeth Wong, please don’t quit because of this. You surely am not in the wrong here and have done nothing wrong. We support you. Keep up the good work.

Andrew Goh: Although she may be a victim, she should be congratulated if she resigns from her exco post as well as from being a state assembly persons.

We can't have naked photographs of our leaders circulating around. In so doing, she will set a high moral standard for others to follow in the future although I have my doubts that the BN leaders will appreciate it.

Her resignation will show that she is not after position or money. It is something for us Malaysians to be proud of.

Lai Fatt Sian: Elizabeth Wong should not be allowed to resign because whatever happened is no fault of hers. Why should the innocent be punished?

This is what Khir Toyo wants. The one who instigated the exposure and the one who took the photo and intruded into the individual's privacy should be apprehended and caned, irrespective of their political ties.

Fair Play: Elizabeth Wong should not resign on account of this fix-up as we all know the motivation of the people behind the release of these compromising video and photographs of her, taken without her knowledge or consent.

Wong has done nothing wrong. She is single and she is not sleeping with anyone's husband. Can you please ask those who are dating whether they have been in such compromising situations before?

Surely, we are adult enough to know who is behind all this and in asking her to step down. This is her private life as a single woman. She should therefore remain in her post and not capitulate to such low down tactics. What next?

YL: It will be ridiculous, sad and just not right if Elizabeth Wong quits over this nude photos incident. She has done nothing wrong, and, rightly said, she is the victim.

If her party and the rakyat feels that she should resign just because some jilted jerk betrayed her trust, then there is something very wrong with our general sense of morality.

We know of one particular twisted opposition politician who has asked for her to quit, but surely the voters of Selangor are much more enlightened than that, and I hope both PKR and BN are as well.

In this day and age, this incident is not 'shameful' and definitely not something considered 'punishable'.

Hang in there Liz, this is no big deal and it will pass very soon enough.

Frank Xroy: Selangor executive councillor Elizabeth Wong's offer to quit her state cabinet post and state assembly seat following her nude photographs controversy, and the call by Mohd Khir Toyo for her to quit, reminds me of an incident I read of that took place in Pakistan in the remote areas where women are subject to all kinds of abuse.

One can draw a similarity here. In the Pakistani case, the woman was raped by six men known to her and her family and when she reported it the village court, the mullahs found her guilty of having sex with a person who was not her husband.

They sentenced her to be stoned to death. Nothing happened to the men who raped her. There are many such cases even today in many of the remote parts of Pakistan.

Khir Toyo seems to be of the same mental make up as the village mullahs and as he is an aspirant for the top Umno Youth post, there is cause for concern for the the type of leadership this country has to offer.

This should be our wake-up call. Are we headed for that type of a government?
