Outgoing PAS Youth chief Salahuddin Ayub reiterated today that he is not going to defend his party post this coming June, adding that he has also not decided on whether or not to contest for a higher position in the party.

"I have made up my mind not to defend my post but I don't think I am worthy to contest for higher positions in the party as of yet," said Salahuddin.

salahuddin ayub 01 "I have been the youth chief for six years. I am 47 years old now and I think it is high time someone younger took over from me.

"The decision on whether I should contest for a higher position, I will leave to the central committee but my decision to not defend my post is final," he added.

Asked whether he would contest for different positions if he was nominated, Salahuddin said: "I will cross that bridge when I get there".

Time to work together

On a related matter, Salahuddin who was chosen to be apart of the parliamentary Special Committee on Corruption under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), thanked the king for his appointment.

The Special Committee on Corruption works to oversee the dealings of the MACC. Other committee members are Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad (Kangar-BN), Razali Ibrahim (Muar-BN), Rahman Dhalan (Kota Belud-BN) and Tan Seng Giew (Kepong-DAP) as well as senators Zamri Yusuf (Kedah-PKR) and Armani Mahirudin (Sabah-BN).

"It is time for us now to work together towards eradicating corruption from our establishments and make this country a better place," he said.
