The New Straits Times picked the internal struggle between MCA chief Ong Tee Keat and his deputy Dr Chua Soi Lek as its headline.

Ong is said to be making a move to haul up Chua over the sex DVD scandal whereas the latter is planning to rally support for his plan to move a motion of no confidence against his boss.

The Star led with the launching of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday at PWTC.

The event was officiated by the architect behind the anti-graft body, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who, in his speech, said MACC will help intensify the fight against graft and deny that it was set up as a mere public relation exercise.

Malay newspapers

Both Utusan Melayu and Berita Harian headlined the call by the Prime Minister for MACC to intensify its fight against, denying that the body is merely a cosmetic makeover.

Tamil newspapers

Both Makkal Osai and Malaysia Nanban's main story was on the recovery of the remains of a murdered man from a cemetery in Seremban. Tamil Nesan also featured this story on its front page.

Tamil Nesan and Makkal Osai also reported on the amount collected by the Batu Caves temple committee during the recent Thaipusam celebrations. The committee announced that a total of RM1.7 million was donated by devotees.
