MCA president Ong Tee Keat is frustrated with his deputy Dr Chua Soi Lek constantly blaming him for the latter's involvement in a sex scandal.

"Last year, he blamed my predecessor (Ong Ka Ting) and now, he blames me.

Chua, the former health minister, resigned from all political posts when a sex DVD involving him surfaced last January.

Currently, the police are investigating him for allegedly engaging in oral sex after receiving a copy of the sex DVD.

In the party elections in October last year, Chua made a political comeback after winning the deputy president's post.

Teamwork is important

On his relationship with Chua, Ong, who is also transport minister, said their personal relationship was not the issue.

What was important was the team and team work, he said.

Ong believed that whatever problem would not cause a rift in the party as he enjoyed a good working relationship with other team members.

The party president said, when other team members extended good cooperation to him (Ong), they were being labelled as the "president’s men" by certain quarters in the party.

"I am convinced that certain quarters are circulating the DVD to tarnish and threaten me into keeping quiet," he said.
