'No Porr' committee co-ordinator Linda Lim said that, while other countries are exploring ways to reduce fuel consumption, Malaysia is building more highways which will lead to increased fuel usage.
"The Penang government should develop an integrated, modern, reliable, efficient and affordable metropolitan public transport system to ease congestion," she said.
The proposed RM1.02 billion Porr alignment will connect Jalan Tunku Kudin in the southeast to Bagan Jermal in the northeast.
