The hearing of a civil suit challenging the legality of Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) was postponed indefinitely by the Kuala Lumpur High Court today.

Along with eight other plaintiffs, the suit was filed by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Dr Syed Husin Ali, who was former PRM president

PRM had merged with Parti Keadilan Nasional in May 2004 with the new entity now known as PKR.

However, the merger was objected to by some PRM leaders who held a special congress to elect a new leadership in April last year.

The current suit against PRM was filed when the Registrar of Society said in August that it recognised the new PRM leadership.
