Multimedia and communications consumers have been told to air their grouses if service providers fail to provide satisfactory answers or solutions.
Addressing the Communications and Multimedia Users Awareness seminar in Kuala Lumpur today, Federal Territory Minister Zulhasnan Rafique said they should contact agencies set up under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
These are the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Communications and Multimedia Consumer Forum of Malaysia (CFM) and Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF).
CFM and CMCF, established in 2001, operate on the basis of industry self-regulation with participation from industry and consumer bodies.
CFM deals with general multimedia and telecommunications complaints, while CMCF investigates complaints from the public and the industry, specifically in relation to content.
Should they fail to address problems, these can be referred to the MCMC.
