Another Sabah coup
There was another coup attempt in Sabah, barely three years after the last one took place, and the third one in five years.
In 2018, BN had initially won a majority in the state legislature, but post-election defection saw Warisan forming the state government instead.
Then, after the Sheraton Move in 2020, defections from Warisan led to a snap state election that was won by the combined forces of PN and BN won.
Warisan and BN are alleged to be working together this time, with Sabah BN chief Bung Moktar Radin withdrawing the coalition's support for Chief Minister Hajiji Noor.
It was alleged that Pakatan Harapan was also initially part of the coup, which the coalition denied.
Warisan, BN, GRS and Harapan are all partners at the federal level and had signed an agreement to back Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister.
The coup appeared to fail after five BN assemblypersons decided to retain support for Hajiji - giving the latter 44 seats in the state legislature, four more than a simple majority.
However, Bung Moktar isn't giving up just yet.

Over in Putrajaya, a cabinet retreat will be called soon to discuss their current performance and to plan targets for the government's first 100 days in office.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also wants to discuss future plans with his ministers.
The previous Ismail Sabri Yaakob administration gave itself a seemingly arbitrary 90 percent score for its 100-day report card, while also hosting an event that violated Covid-19 protocols.
Meanwhile, in 2018, the Harapan government had 10 promises it pledged to fulfil within 100 days, of which it only accomplished two, and partially fulfilled five others.

Bersatu leader arrested
The MACC detained a chief executive officer of a private company as a suspect in its probe into RM92.5 billion in funds allegedly misappropriated from emergency funds during PN's time in power.
The CEO is suspected to be a middle person in the distribution of government projects under the economic stimulus package between 2020 and 2022.
The detainee later turned out to be a Bersatu division leader - although party deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu was quick to distance then-prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin from any wrongdoing.
