Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will be attending a rally in Alor Setar, Kedah. The event, organised by the state Pakatan Harapan, comes a day before Putrajaya’s national-level Aidilfitri open house in the same city.
According to promotional material, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and three other cabinet ministers - Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Salahuddin Ayub and Nga Kor Ming - will also be present at the event, which will feature singers Siti Nurhaliza and Amy Search.
The organiser is expecting an attendance of 10,000.
Kedah, under Perikatan Nasional, is one of the six states which will hold a state election in the coming months.

PN to deploy Shahidan in Selangor?
Former Perlis menteri besar Shahidan Kassim, who is now a PAS member, might contest a seat in Selangor under Perikatan Nasional.
According to reports, the opposition is hoping that the veteran politician’s “aura” might tip the scales in their favour in the Pakatan Harapan stronghold.
In the last general election, Shahidan helped PN stage a near wipeout in Perlis with the coalition winning 17 out of the 18 state seats.
The Arau MP is rumoured to be eyeing the Semenyih seat.

Bail counter footage
The Federal Court chief registrar's office released a CCTV video to back its claim that the Kuala Lumpur court complex bail counter did not close early on April 20.
This came after Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng called for the disclosure of the footage to prove the chief registrar's claim.
Previously, the chief registrar's office denied allegations that six individuals could not post bail because the Kuala Lumpur court complex counter closed at 2.53pm last Thursday and not 4pm as expected.
As it was a long weekend, the six spent Friday to Sunday in custody. Bail was finally processed on Monday, which incidentally was a public holiday.
