Anwar, Trump seal a deal
US President Donald Trump arrived in Malaysia on an upbeat note.
He danced together with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on arrival, and later, the two inked a major trade deal.
The deal requires massive commitments from Malaysia, including billions from GLCs to buy US products, unrestricted rare earth exports, and SST exemptions for US farm and seafood products.
In return, the reciprocal tariff rate on Malaysian exports is maintained at 19 percent.
A broad list of products also remains exempt from the additional tariffs, including semiconductors - a major Malaysian export to the US.

Fugitive tracked down with Budi95
The government's Budi95 eligibility portal has become an unwitting crime-busting tool.
M Indira Gandhi's ex-husband, Riduan Abdullah, had disappeared 16 years ago with their youngest daughter, Prasana Diksa.
The Federal Court in 2016 ordered police to arrest Riduan and return Prasana to Indira.
However, Riduan has remained elusive, with police claiming that he was not in the country.
But internet sleuths uncovered evidence that he is still in Malaysia - using the Budi95 portal to show that he had been buying subsidised RON95.

Azmin's 'cartel' split
The group of former PKR lawmakers who followed Azmin Ali into Bersatu is splitting up.
While Azmin has become a defender of Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, Indera Mahkota MP Saifuddin Abdullah wants him out of office.
He also wants Azmin out, citing moral decay - a veiled reference to the party secretary-general's 2019 sex video scandal.
Meanwhile, former Batu Pahat MP Rashid Hasnon also seems to be siding with Saifuddin, appearing at key events, albeit keeping silent for now.
