Courts deal another blow to govt
The Kuala Lumpur High Court has dealt a major blow to the government, the latest legal defeat for Putrajaya in two months.
Judge Su Tiang Joo found the government and police liable over the disappearances of pastor Raymond Koh and activist Amri Che Mat.
Su ordered police to re-open their investigations into both cases.
He also awarded RM3 million to Amri's wife Norhayati Ariffin and RM6 million to Koh's family.
The judge also ordered the government to pay RM10,000 per day for each day Koh has been missing since Feb 13, 2017 until he is found.
As of Nov 7, Koh has been missing for 3,189 days, meaning the government owes the Koh family RM31.89 million.
The Attorney-General's Chambers believes the judge had erred in his decision over the civil cases, and will file an appeal.

Royals have different views on Fifa scandal
Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has offered to pay all expenses related to the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) appeal against Fifa sanctions over footballers of dubious heritage on the Malaysian team.
The royal, who claimed the Fifa sanctions were politically motivated, said he would be using his money and not public funds.
However, Tunku Ismail's uncle, Pahang's Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, was more measured in his response.
Sultan Abdullah, who was a former FAM president, said the Fifa scandal must serve as a lesson and warning to all parties.
