Nismilan drift: Umno no longer furious
Umno’s U-turn in the Negeri Sembilan crisis now has all the theatrics of a drifting stunt.
Just days after they withdrew support from Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun in a huff, a source told Malaysiakini that 12 out of 14 assemblypersons now want to be back in the state government, with some lobbying for exco posts.
This was reportedly expressed during an April 30 meeting between the 12 and party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Negeri Sembilan Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias, however, isn’t on board and wants his team to be in the opposition instead.

Water party ends with minor drama
A three-day block party in Bukit Bintang featuring water canons came to an end on Saturday.
Despite the furore from conservatives, not much happened at the party that would cause controversy.
The only incident was a woman brandishing a knife on closing night, who was apprehended by the crowd before being arrested by police.
