  • Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said it is not fair to accuse his deputy Mohamad Hasan of being the mastermind behind Negeri Sembilan BN’s withdrawal of support from Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun.

    On the contrary, Zahid said that Mohamad was playing a mediating role.

    “(Mohamad) is trying to find ways to resolve the issue. It is unfair to make such allegations against him. He frequently holds discussions with me to find a solution,” the Umno president was quoted as saying by Bernama.

    Last week, Negeri Sembilan BN announced that all 14 of its assemblypersons were withdrawing support from Aminuddin over the latter’s handling of the royal crisis in the state. Mohamad is one of the 14 assemblypersons, but was not present when the announcement was made.

  • Umno and Pakatan Harapan will meet this coming week to iron out their differences over the Negeri Sembilan crisis, said Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

    Negeri Sembilan BN has accused Aminuddin of failing to uphold the state’s customary laws after the Undang Yang Empat moved to oust the Yang di-Pertuan Besar in a tit-for-tat.
