US President Donald Trump on Friday signed a proclamation to raise the fee for H-1B visa applications to $100,000.

The visa program is meant for highly skilled workers to lawfully work in the US and companies have often relied on the program to attract workers for roles difficult to fill with qualified US citizens and permanent residents.
