The four - in their late 20s and early 30s - were caught at about 6.30pm while allegedly putting up a false banner, together with a Myvi car with a 1Malaysia sticker, in which there had been found more banners that Selangor PAS says are a bid to smear the opposition coalition.
"The banners contain slander, featuring Pakatan leaders as if they were put up by DAP, PAS and PKR," said Selangor PAS commissioner Dr Abdul Rani Osman.
The provocative banners, he stressed, were not at all from Pakatan Rakyat components.
The banners come in Malay and Chinese, mostly espousing that a vote for Pakatan is a vote for an Islamic state, hudud laws to be implemented should the party come to power, PKR supposedly promoting freedom of religion by allowing Muslims to turn apostate, and DAP claiming that it will help those who vote for them to get equal rights as Malaysians.
The four were taken to the Semenyih police station and handed over, where the PAS supporters also lodged a police report against them.

Abdul Rani said that other than Semenyih, similar banners were also found in Meru, Shah Alam, Kota Raja, Klang and Subang Jaya.
He added that PAS supporters have taken down twenty to thirty of such banners, and will be on the lookout for more.
In a related development, incumbent Subang Jaya DAP assemblyperson Hannah Yeoh (

) said that the Kelana Jaya Pakatan has discovered and removed 50 false banners within the vicinity of the Subang Jaya area.
She suspected that her political opponent, BN, is responsible for hanging the banners.
"We hereby remind the Kelana Jaya BN to stop employing dirty tricks, and that it is about time that the leaders of Kelana Jaya MCA begin assuming responsibility for the misconduct of their members and supporters," she told a press conference at Subang Jaya this afternoon.
However, Kelana Jaya MCA division chief Ong Chong Swen has said that she had no knowledge about the fake banners.
"I want Yeoh to show me the banner, I really didn't know about the matter," she told Malaysiakini when contacted.
