Najib Abdul Razak made a "tactical mistake" when he incorporated elements from the Pakatan Rakyat manifesto in the BN manifesto, according to PKR.

NONE Its director of strategy Rafizi Ramli said the nature of BN's manifesto now means that Najib can no longer claim that Pakatan's policies will bankrupt the nation.

"Before this, he had said our policies will bankrupt the nation. Now they have become do-able," he told a press conference at party headquarters today.

PKR intends to "fully manipulate" this fact while campaigning for general election, Rafizi ( left ) said.

He also said there are only "two or three new ideas" in the BN manifesto while the rest take a leaf from the Pakatan manifesto.

He also said he had issues with the lack of depth in BN's promises.

"In our manifesto, we give a clear timeline, with a clear cash flow and mechanism. All that is missing from BN's manifesto," he said.

"After five years if they reduce the toll prices by 30 sen, that can also be considered a promise fulfilled. Their promises are too general.”

NONE Rafizi said he and other party workers have worked hard to develop the policies and deliver information door to door to the public.

"I don't mind (the BN) using parts of manifesto. But there should be intellectual honesty about it. There should be a bipartisan acknowledgment about the ideas that came through our manifesto," he said.

If such acknowledgment had been made earlier, he added, the people could have benefitted from better policies "six or seven months" ago.
