Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) will not file any petition to protest the May 5 general election results, Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said.

He said the Perak BN accepted the decision that had been made by the people in the election.

“We accept the decision which has been made by the people although we know that there are a few areas which we can file petition to protest the results, like for constituencies where they (opposition pact) won with a small majority of less that 1,000 votes, such as Selinsing,” he told reporters after a Meet The Clients Day programme in Ipoh today.

Zambry, who is state BN chairperson, said the coalition would focus on administrative work as well as efforts to develop the state to uplift the people’s well-being.

Today, Perak PAS filed three petitions at the High Court in Ipoh to seek a declaration that the election results for the Manjoi, Lubok Merbau and Pasir Panjang state constituencies seats were void.

In the last 13th general election, BN won 31 of the 59 state seats in Perak, and the remaining by the opposition pact, comprising PAS, DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
