The Terengganu Barisan Nasional (BN) today filed election petitions regarding the polling results in the Rantau Abang and Teluk Pasu state seats.

Spokesperson Che Awang Salleh said the petition was filed this morning through Messrs Rafaei & Co at the High Court Registrar’s Office in Kuala Terengganu.

“We’re responding to the Election Commission’s advice by using this space and opportunity to express our dissatisfaction. Filing a petition is better than conducting street protests and other such activities,” he told Bernama in Kuala Terengganu today.

Che Awang said the petition was filed as a result of BN’s investigation on the alleged problems created by the opposition parties during the 13th general election and they were prepared to present witnesses.

On Sunday, Terengganu PAS filed election petitions for the Hulu Besut and Kuala Berang state seats, alleging corruption.
