Selangor state executive council member Rodziah Ismail has resigned from the state government, said Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

He said he has received her letter today saying that she is resigning effective today, and the letter is valid under the law.

“We thank YB Rodziah Ismail for her contribution and services given throughout her tenure as Selangor state exco member,” he said in a statement today.

Earlier today, it was reported that Khalid already sacked Rodziah, according to PAS exco member Dr Halimah Ali.

She revealed that the decision was made following the Selangor Economic Action Council meeting this morning.

"The letter (of termination) will be issued like the rest (the five other exco members sacked earlier)," she told reporters in Shah Alam.

Khalid had withheld Rodziah's sacking as she was overseas. He also said that she might support him over the crisis concerning the menteri besar post.

However, the Batu Tiga assemblyperson, who returned from Bangkok last night, told Malaysiakini that she was backing PKR.

Rodziah also said that she would tender her resignation.
