In his latest take on the crisis in Selangor, former MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek said Anwar Ibrahim will rule the state if his wife becomes the menteri besar.
Chua (below) said it is not rocket science that Anwar would pull the strings if PKR president Dr Wan Azizah helmed the state.
However, he pointed out that it was nothing personal against her.
"In fact, I admire her for her patience, humility and dedication towards Anwar," he wrote in his blog today.
"But running a fast developing state like Selangor where even a seasoned politician does not last, we are expecting too much from Wan Azizah to perform rather than just be a figurehead puppet.
"The man behind the throne is obviously the husband. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand this," he added.
He also noted the possibility of PKR deputy president Azmin Ali emerging as a surprise winner.
DAP and polluted Klang river
Launching a broadside on DAP, Chua also claimed that the party, which is MCA's traditional rival, did not practice what it preached.
"DAP used to laugh and mock MCA for leaders who are old as compared to DAP where they have young, intelligent, full of ideas and new faces.
"But when it comes to their own political expediency and survival, they throw all the so-called virtues advocated into the polluted Klang river to support Wan Azizah (left) ," he added.
The former MCA president also said Pakatan Rakyat has lost their moral high ground due to this incident.
"One must not forget in the 2008 general election, the rakyat supported Pakatan in the belief that they will bring in an era of new politics with fresh faces, be more rakyat friendly, have less political infighting, less corruption, more transparency and accountability.
"On this basis, they were given a ringing endorsement. Came the 2013 general election, the rakyat reaffirmed these endorsements and Pakatan won big," he added.
However, Chua said the "smell of fresh air" no longer lingered and has been replaced with a foul stench.
"We smell the stinking political infighting within and between the three Pakatan parties," he added.
