YOURSAY ‘Only the politically desperate need to resort to such sewer politics.’

MCA: DAP to blame for Malay anger, not Chinese

Oh Ya?: The so-called Malay anger is Umno's hallmark reaction whenever they cannot defend their wrongdoings. The Bersih 4 rally and the isolated picture-stomping incident are just their excuses.

Shouldn't they be more angry with their own leader, the self-proclaimed Bugis warrior, who dared not officiate the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) and has now become an international disgrace?

Shouldn't they be more angry that they have no explanation for the RM2.6 billion ‘donation’? Shouldn't they be more angry that their top elected leaders were dropped from the cabinet for no apparent good reasons?

Shouldn't they be more angry that the economy is coming to a standstill, the cost of living is going up, and the ringgit is getting worse?

As for the MCA, why is it that they are condoning such racist outbursts by singing the same song? Isn't it an outright endorsement and encouragement?

If they really care for their own kind, shouldn't they tell off these racists in no uncertain terms?

Myviews: These MCA leaders still don't get it. Bersih 4 is about good governance, clean elections, and doing away with corruption.

Here, we have these morons talking about race, race, and race. And just because there are two or three misguided participants stepping on a composite picture of two ‘sacred’ individuals, these leaders blame the DAP.

What makes you think that these few perpetrators, whom Bersih 4 has disassociated, are from DAP? Why must you keep harping on the subject of race when Bersih 4 has nothing to do with it.

By not addressing the issues at hand like what Bersih 4 is fighting, you and your party are trying to tell us that you condone all the wrongdoings of those in power.

Also, do you not realise that the more you talk about race, the more tension you create among Malaysians?

Casey: MCA central committee member Ti Lian Ker is just another Ah Q, a sycophant and bootlicker to his Umno masters indulging in self-gratification and self-deception.

I'm a Chinese and I've as many Malay friends as I have amongst the non-Malays from all walks of life. I eat in Malay food stores in the midst of overwhelming Malay crowd. We talk unreservedly about the dismal state affairs in the country; about how Umno hypocrites, supported by bunch of MCA and Gerakan Ah Qs, rape and ruin the country.

I've never felt any feeling of animosity as amongst my fellow Malaysian, of whatever creed.

The photo that we see here in red shirts, and the rabble-rousers in the Low Yat and other incidences are, like the MCA's Ah Qs, Umno's mercenaries, who represent not the majority of the peace-loving Malaysians.

Ipohcrite: Ti and MCA are a menace to the well-being of this country. I never imagined that MCA and its members could stoop so low just to earn political points which, in so doing, is an affront to common sense and human decency.

Only the politically desperate need to resort to such sewer politics.

Anonymous 1689721435778173: MCA, there is no way you can redeem yourself. You are a lost cause. Your existence is just to please Umno and enrich your leaders.

Words cannot describe the contempt many people have for your stand and your deception. It has gone on for far too long and now you are exposed.

The more you try to justify yourself and condemn DAP, the greater the contempt people have for you. So stop trying.

Be like Gerakan. There is not a squeak from them. They know they cannot defend the indefensible.

Their normally voluble Youth chief has suddenly gone silent. Has he suddenly discovered that he has backed the wrong horse? And that he has been taken for a ride?

Speechless: Ti should get his facts right. Bersih 4 was organised by Bersih 2.0. Everyone was invited to attend, including BN.

The fact that BN members chose not to attend, except for a few such as former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former MCA chief Ling Liong Sik, etc, is nobody else's fault.

DAP, PKR and Amanah members and members of the public turned up in full force because they wanted to send a message to the prime minister that corruption and unfair elections will not be tolerated.

There is nothing racial or divisive about Bersih 4. Ti has fallen into the trap of seeing everything through the racial lens. Stomping on photos is rude but not illegal.

Where was Ti when Umno members stomped on the photos of DAP leaders Lim Kit Siang, Guan Eng, etc? MCA is a dying party. Ti is helping to drive the nails into its coffin.

Anonymous_1419577444: As if on cue, Ti is taking a leaf from the old MCA-BN playbook to increase the racial temperature, just like what some people in Umno and their NGOs are doing.

This modus operandi sounds all too familiar. Political parties from BN played up racial issues, then the PM has to "invoke certain measures nationwide" to clamp down on everyone in the name of "national security".

There wasn't any national security or racial issues until these were intentionally played up by BN and its cronies. Everyone knows that no political parties have control of Bersih 4 but Ti is intentionally blaming everything on DAP.

Ti is not stupid; he is a lawyer by profession, so he knows exactly what his intentions are. Hopefully the police will nip this in the bud.

But if things get worse, please remember Ti Lian Ker's name as well as MCA. One should be sent to jail, the other into political oblivion.

Hopeful123: MCA still believes that the Chinese are stupid as much as Umno thinks the Malays are.

Urkidding: Just name one MCA MP elected from a Chinese-majority constituency to strongly affirm MCA represents the community.

The irony is an Indian or Malay candidate can win in a Chinese-majority constituency but not MCA. Isn't it strange?
