I refer to the Malaysiakini report Umno reform: The jury is still out .

Today, almost everyone sees communal parties as not good for nation-building. Most of us see them as unhealthy and not progressive.

But if it’s so, then our country would have long ago disappeared from the face of the earth.

Why can’t we all go back to our early history to learn to share and to work together even if we are divided by virtue of our race, religion and culture?

The formation of political coalition party during those days early in our nation’s history underlined the code of understanding and an acceptance by all the major races - the Malays, the Chinese and the Indians - to work together to build this country up from nothing.

If these communal parties were no good, then we could have seen major setbackz to our communities’ development but this is not the case.

What the Alliance did then and BN does now resulted in a strong foundation for us to grow, to live, to play etc.

Why can’t we go back to look at our constitution? Why do we want to ignore the spirit of our constitution?

This is very irritating mode of some our citizens in not wanting to share the spirit of our nation’s constitution. I believe that the present BN government and its policies are pragmatic.
