'Twas a fine sight, when they all alight;

298 in the flight, all appeared right;

Many kids so bright, for holidays not trite;

Others flying light, returning after some nites!

Take off was smooth, hospitality also soothe;

Crew out to prove, MH is sans spoofs;

Always on the move, ne’er aloof;

All felt quite groove, many passengers approved!

Pilots so professional, flight path had approval;

Over route multinational, safe sans rebuttal;

Put all at ease as usual, wishing journey comfortable;

Cruised as advisable, by ATC's deemed capable!

All of a sudden, over territory in contention;

Aircraft hit so wanton, by device so brazen;

Snuffing lives sans pardon, obliterating craft so potent;

Across farmland unbarren, charred parts left to discern!

Why this madness, afflicted upon innocent masses;

Unconnected to causes, of belligerent forces;

Why their sacrifices, why their losses;

Have the world gone bonkers, with act so ruthless!

To add to malady, remains left so ruefully;

In field rather unfriendly, sans any dignity;

While powers so mighty, disavowed act so dastardly;

Till a statesman brilliantly, brokered consensual deal directly!

It led to scenes of dignity, by uniformed service so professionally;

On tarmac of airport by party, that suffered loss so greatly;

Providing semblance of proprietary, for kins watching intensely;

Giving solace much needy, to all aggrieved families!

No words can express, tragic loss and distress;

Borne by those in stress, awaiting bodies to lay to rest;

Others can only at best, offer condolences/prayers no less;

Hoping prompt resolution sans mess, action not to digress!

To the perpetrators, I say this very clear;

What you did is travesty unblurr, heinous act that'll incur;

Wrath of Almighty unto you and those near, your conscience will endure;

Continuous wretchedness and fear, every day and every hour!

Let this be reminder, to belligerents all over;

The act to push trigger, may cause misery to many other;

Who are in no way to bother, what you consider so dear;

But wretchedness you conjure, shall haunt you forever!

Rest in Peace, be Serene, innocent victims of MH17!
