Making all castes equal can curb crime
Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman was a great leader who made Malaysia a better nation. He was courageous and said, “MIC is neither dead nor alive”. We can add PPP today. These two parties have failed to be honest about the most important issue, ie crime and social conflicts due to caste discrimination.
Even Karpal Singh was less than honest on this matter. He could have urged an amendment to the constitution and worked for a law stating that all Indian and Sri Lankan castes are of equal status.
This matter must be solved urgently to reduce crime among Indian youths. There are 60 to 70 different castes among the ethnic Indians and Sri Lankans in Malaysia and they can form cooperatives for economic development and welfare. Castes should be interpreted as family. The bond within each caste is very strong. It is stronger than within the Chinese clans and Malay suku kaums.
Maybe an all-party conference can be called to discuss this issue. Let the investigations on 1MDB continue. The all-party conference can also discuss meritocracy in education. Malay students have moved forward. They can easily compete on an equal footing with Chinese and Indians. Besides, it is good for the Malay community as they will earn dignity and respect from fellow malaysians. To Zahid Hamidi, this is the real dignity.
The all-party conference can also discuss land reform to take land from plantation companies and distribute them to landless Malaysians. These are the pressing issues in Malaysia today.
Malaysia should learn from the war in Sri Lanka. It is the lack of an amendment on caste in their constitution that had made Sri Lanka to go into the toilet and into the septic tank. Please do not let that happen in Malaysia.
MIC, PPP and the elected Indian reps in DAP and PKR are plainly ignorant on the issue of castes. Just don’t trust them. They are dishonest, everybody including Karpal Singh.
To both BN parties and Pakatan Rakyat parties, ‘Take it or leave it’, you are free to choose. Malaysia has become a bad place due to the high rate of crime.
