I think Kampong Son has hit upon the crux of a very important matter. Continued polarisation due to contradictory and divisive policies will be a social and economic drag that will affect all Malaysians.

China has woken up and will be a major superpower. Likewise for India. Thailand is now overtaking us. Wait till the Indonesia and Philippines governments get their acts together.

We have reached a point in Malaysian history again when it is imperative that Malaysians work together again hand-in-hand to be much more productive and competitive than we have ever been. The 'good' times and excesses of the 90s are past and gone.

Malaysia, now more than ever, needs all her races to wake up to the fact that if we continue not to get our act together, we will slip behind the other emerging Asian countries slowly but surely. Do we want to see that happen?

The politicians must realise they need to let us work together again as one Bangsa Malaysia rather than indirectly impede this with ill-thought out and contradictory policies that continue to sap our morale over time, leading to polarisation.

We did it during the fight for Merdeka, and we can do it again!
