In response to Leave me alone... by Muslim Malaysian For Now, I must remind all those who protested the Jawi raid that some (or is it the majority) of Muslims subscribe to the belief that if you are aware that 'wrong' is being committed and you do nothing to stop it, you would be as 'guilty' as those who committed the 'wrong'.

I am not sure how this 'doctrine' of 'bersubahat' came about, but it is taken pretty seriously by many Muslims.

Having said that, I think the Jawi raid was wrong and hegemonic. I shudder to think of the same thing happening to me, a gay Muslim man living with a non-Muslim partner in Malaysia.

Those who are fond of riding the moral high horse should be constantly reminded that in religion - just as in politics - absolute power corrupts absolutely.
