We labelled them white supremacists looking down on natives;
We described them as robbers and thieves;
We attributed them to creating anglophiles;
We blamed them for the loss of our pride.

Hence for independence we must fight;
To regain self-rule, destiny, dignity and pride;
But are these all hypes?
What destiny, what dignity and what pride?

Today the elitists have replaced the white supremacists;
Putrajaya is new London;
Draconian laws abound;
Democracy in tatter and education in shambles.

A little glimpse of promise of our nationhood is fast fading;
Now we are a nation fast losing its international standing;
Sarawak and Sabah have begun agitating;
And Johor too has begun growling.
