I refer to Abdul Hadi Ali's letter titled Malay Language for 'Malayland . I don't have much to say concerning what was said in his letter except that this letter is an example of what is wrong with our society today.

What kind of mature, God fearing Malaysian adult would write such a petulant and childish mail?

To this point, I am still dumbfounded by what kind of threat Abdul Hadi perceives is against the Malay language, and what Israel and Singapore have to do with all this.

No one is threatening any language, in fact I learnt the Malay language whilst in school and I still speak it well, as I do with English and Chinese.

I pride myself in being able to speak at least three languages, and I shall ensure my children are able to do the same.

I have only one more thing to say about Abdul Hadi's mail: only people who are insecure and lack confidence in their own language or culture will react and write in the way he did.
