I agree with the writers of the letters Rosakan undi tanda protes and Letter writers, do more the just write . People nowadays only know how to talk, complain and worst of all, hide in one corner while pointing out other people's mistakes.

Blogs, forums and even letters to the editors are full of complaints about what is going on in Malaysia but do these complainers actually vote? What did you do during the last election? Sleep? At a cyber cafe playing games? Dating? Clubbing? Or smoking cigarettes somewhere in Bukit Bintang or Sungai Wang?

As a person who is only aged 24 this year, I have seen many of my friends ignoring their right to vote. Most of them say they don't care about the election as their parents would handle it for them by voting in the 'correct' person who will decide their future. However, when the government increased the fuel price and toll rates recently, these friends started to 'make noise' filling up blogs and forums with their cursing and tons of pictures showing the demonstrations.

What do they gain by doing that? Nothing. The prices still go up and they still have to pay them. Unbelievable, isn't it? Yet this is what is going on now with our youngster these days.

Giving up your right to vote is equal to giving up your future. Do not forget that one day, our parents will pass away and we are the ones who will still have to move on with our lives. We are the one who have to decide what kind of 'transport' we will ride on, not our parents. And we are the ones who will pay the price when new rules and regulations are implemented without our approval. Not our parents!

The current government, ruled by BN, has won too many elections - too many until they have forgotten that we are the ones who gave them the power to rule the country. Without Malaysians, Umno, MCA, MIC and the other BN components won't even exist. Yet, people inside Umno think that Malaysians owe them for our country's achievements. Do you want this lot to become our next leaders? Ask yourselves about it.

It is about time for you guys to wake up from your sweet little dreams. Stop complaining and start showing your disagreement with the voting power that you have in your hand. It doesn't matter if the Election Commission is corrupted or not, as long as you do not ignore the right you have and vote.

You can do something to change the current situation that we are facing now. If there is no worthy party to vote for, then vote for the independent candidate. If you don't like all of them, than follow the writer's advice, 'rosakan kertas undi itu sebagai tanda protes kita terhadap pilihan raya tersebut'. It is still far better then sitting around doing nothing, folding our hands and keeping on complaining.
