I would like to express my disgust with the MTUC which endorsed Khalid Ibrahim as the PKR candidate for the Ijok by-election tomorrow. What disgusts me more is that the secretary of MTUC actually stated that the MTUC is unhappy that MIC has failed to resolve the minimum wage problem for estate workers.

So what happens? They endorse Khalid who is also contributed to this minimum wage problem when he was Guthrie's chief executive officer. Khalid, when he was in that position, denied a decent monthly wage for estate workers. Khalid, as Guthrie CEO ordered the houses of estate workers at Bukit Jelutong to be demolished and also nearly demolished the houses of estate workers at Changkat Salak and Kamiri in Sungai Siput.

Only after Khalid left Guthrie was the housing issue at Bukit Jelutong resolved. Until today, there has been no apology from Khalid for his past acts.

Now the same Khalid, ex-CEO of Guthrie, acts like he is the champion of estate workers in the country. He says 'we did the best we could' when he was in Guthrie. Well, the best was not enough and, in fact, was oppressive and kept the estate workers in poverty.

Now Khalid acts as if he is the champion of workers and estate workers. Who is he trying to deceive? Stop acting, Khalid. There is no difference between Khalid and the Barisan Nasional candidate. Both are liars.

I pity the people of Ijok. They have a candidate which is from the oppressive BN government and their only alternative is a human rights violator who has demolished people's homes previously. Only God can save Ijok.
