PAS vice-president Husam Musa will be meeting several Barisan Nasional leaders soon to persuade them to jointly pressure Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak into agreeing for the dissolution of the Perak state assembly.

Razaleigh, a staunch supporter of the royal institution, has been Umno’s most critical voice over the Perak political crisis and has repeatedly urged for the state assembly to be dissolved.

Husam also hopes to meet other BN leaders expressing similar sentiments, such as MCA deputy president Dr Chua Soi Lek and unspecified Gerakan leaders.

However, Husam stressed that such meetings would be done in his personal capacity and that he would not be representing his party.

But if they want (to meet us) on their capacity as party leaders, they need the mandate from their (respective) parties,” he said during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

“We must sit together to form one front to seek the dissolution of the state assembly,” he added.

Elaborating on his plans, he said the political bureau wants to unite everyone who wants the dissolution of the Perak state assembly to resolve the three-month long impasse.

Met at Razaleigh’s home in Kuala Lumpur today, Husam said that the outcome was “positive” and that the former is expected to issue a public statement on the meeting soon.

Meanwhile, Husam said that he would be seeking a meeting with Chua tomorrow.
