Cityboy: Vote for BN in the next general election and you will get a ‘Datuk' title. The title doesn't carry the prestige anymore since it's obtained for one's political affiliation rather than social and economical contribution. Otherwise my dog would deserve the title more than Hee Yit Fong.

Dood: How disgusting. I'm sure the awards are "recommended" by the (false) BN state government, and the sultan usually goes along with the recommendation, but there have been cases where the sultan doesn't go along with what was recommended.

To give someone like Hee a Datukship just speaks volumes of either ignorance or lack of judgment. And to think the Perak royal family was once one of the more respected ones before the defection fiasco. Times certainly have changed...

Keturunan Malaysia: Long long ago, a Datuk was a much respected person for he/she, without doubt, deserved the Datukship. I personally declined to receive one because I sincerely felt I was not qualified, and again at that time, I was not prepared to give up 'my way of life' to be worthy of same. Today, well sigh, is different from yesterday.

Hulu Selangor is Pakatan's to lose

SusahKes: I think this is a good analysis. Yes, it's full of details, but that is an important part of analysing the voter mindset. Granted, nothing's cast in stone, but going through the statistics will allow for strategies on the ground. So folks, don't criticise this article too soon.

I believe it provides us with some insight on the mindset of voters. What may apply in Hulu Selangor may not apply in say, Bangsar. The crucial issue at hand - and I totally agree with the writer - is that this by-election is important. And the ramifications, in my opinion, are going to be nationwide.

Whoever wins - coupled with a study of voting patterns among the races - will tell you whether Perkasa will continue to remain relevant; whether S Samy Vellu is finally dumped; whether Muhyddin Yassin's neck will be on the chopping block; and perhaps most importantly, whether the march towards a two-party system is going to be successful.

Cala: I agree with Ong Kian Ming's analysis that Hulu Selangor is a seat reserved for Pakatan Rakyat. Najib Razak's 1Malaysia motto may mean well for all, but it has not been put to real test. Malays are not fools anymore and they know who are the real beneficiaries of NEP.

To the BN, Chinese are a foregone conclusion for they have been driven away by the senseless rumblings of Perkasa. As for Indians, they would only get Umno's attention during election time, and they are promptly forgotten until the next election.

WandererAUS: The most significant outcome if MIC lost this by-election is for Umno to reclaim this seat in the coming general election. The writing was already on the wall when BN was in the process of picking its candidate. Umno's interference was clearly visible.

Foo Fighters: I don't think MIC will win this coming Hulu Selangor by-election. Do you want to vote a candidate that supports Perkasa? He is the first non-Malay who supports the Perkasa movement. Even Gerakan, MIC and other BN components parties do not have the balls to back Perkasa openly.

Kgen: I'm hoping for BN to roll out the turncoats Zahrain Hashim and Ezam Mohd Nor to launch their poisonous personal attacks on Anwar Ibrahim to convince the Malays that BN is indeed bankrupt of morals.

20% Hulu S'gor voters transferred, claims PKR

Amaso: It is good for PKR to have discovered the trick done by the Election Commission now rather than on the election day. To counter this, PKR should have the latest voters list and mobilise as many vehicles as possible to transport them to the correct polling station in the shortest time possible.

Fairplayer: During the 2008 GE, I was unhappily surprised that my name had been shifted to another constituency when I showed up at the polling station to vote. Nevertheless, my candidate in my original constituency went on to win by a bigger majority. May the same happen this coming Hulu Selangor by-election.

Tan Kian Khim: Election Commission chief Abdul Aziz Yusof, kindly explain this enormous aberration. Immediately.

Police report lodged against M'kini, ex-mufti Asri

Ninja Bradley: Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin, don't be fazed by your critics. They cannot handle anything that doesn't please them. They cannot handle the truth. They don't realise that in accepting our weaknesses, we grow to be strong. These people are insecure and lack confidence. This is what NEP does to you over a period of time of coddling and providing crutches.

When in trouble, they reach for their religion. All of a sudden, everyone is an infidel and they are the good guys. We have to be brave to embrace change. The cowards have no guts to compete fairly.

Yobama: If you don't agree with what he writes, then write another article to rebut his claims. This is the problem with Malay 'so-called intellectuals'. They just know how to make police reports, but they cannot argue logically like real scholars.

I don't see anything seditious in Asri's writing, compared to what Dr Mahathir Mohamad said of the rulers during the crisis in 1993. So, don't waste the police's time. They have many other things to do, like arresting people involved in illegal assemblies.

Loyal Malaysian: This is a standard ploy, lodge a police report and get your own security wing to take action on anything that displeases you - the Umnoputras SOP (standard operation procedure) on dissent.
