The Selangor International Islamic University College (Kuis) student whose PTPTN loan was suspended because of his alleged involvement in the Hulu Selangor by-election, is asking Higher Education Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin for an explanation.

He told reporters at the Selangor state secretariat building that he had not even been called to defend his charge.

“I was only asked to meet several officers from the college’s graduate development department last June 6 to receive a letter. The letter is a print-out of an email to the college’s administrators informing them my study loan was suspended,” Ahmad Shukri said.

Mohd Nasir Zakaria (PAS-Padang Terap) had revealed Ahmad Shukri’s predicament during a parliamentary debate in June.

Ahmad Shukri, who is a member of the Solidarity Mahasiswa Malaysia (SMM) and Gabungan Mahasiswa Islam Se-Malaysia (Gamis), sought help from the Selangor government, who has since offered him a scholarship.
