The contest for the PKR Youth chief post between the incumbent Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin and his challenger, supreme council member Badrul Hisham Shaharin, has kicked off with a bang as both shoot off the blocks with almost the same number of votes.

pkr nomination shamsul iskandar After the first division meetings yesterday to hold the elections for the party’s top national posts, Shamsul Iskandar ( right ) has been found to be leading by only nine votes against Badrul Hisham - more popularly known as Chegubard.

According to official results from PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Shamsul Iskandar has grabbed 136 votes as compared to Badrul Hisham’s ( below ) 127.

NONE For the wing’s No 2, meanwhile, Selangor PKR Youth chief Khairul Anuar Ahmad Zainuddin - Shamsul’s running mate - has gotten 193 undi.

PKR’s Sementara state assemblyperson Teja Chang Lih Kang - who is on Chegubard’s team - has 54 votes.

The three other candidates for the vice-chairpersonship of PKR Youth, meanwhile, are Azmizam Zaman Huri (156 votes), Erveana Ansari Ali (113) and V Sivam (96).

Wanita: Zuraida starts well

NONE For the post of PKR Wanita chief, incumbent Zuraida Kamaruddin ( right ) is - as expected - is leading her two closest challengers by 178 votes.

Suraya Sudin has gotten 98 votes, whereas Aniamah Ferrar has 32 votes.

For the post of deputy Wanita chief, Rodziah Ismail is ahead of her challenger Asmah Abd Kadir by 157 votes. Rodziah has 192 votes.

Three other candidates with the highest votes for vice-chief of the Wanita wing are deputy Selangor assembly speaker Haniza Tallha (138), Rawang state assemblyperson Gan Pei Nei (125) and Noor Sham Abu Samah (120).

As many as 32 PKR divisions will be meeting today to hold elections for the party’s top posts.

The states involved are Kedah (2 divisions), Kelantan (5), Pahang (7), Negeri Sembilan (6), Perak (9) and Perlis (3).
