An aide to embattled Sri Muda assemblyperson Shuhaimi Shafiei denied rumours that police raided the state elected representative's house early this morning.

"The police came looking for the YB between 8.30pm to 9.30pm last night. But he was not at home as he was attending a PKR Youth event in Klang.

pkr congress 281110 shuhaimi "As he was not there, he agreed to meet with police today (to give his statement)," said his aide, Azmizam Zaman Huri.

Shuhaimi ( right ) has confirmed to Malaysiakini via today SMS that he had agreed to present himself to the Shah Alam district police headquarters at 2pm.

"Yes, the police did come to my house. I have given my commitment to ASP Chong yesterday that I will be at the police station today. I don't know why they came to my house last night.

"There are two possibilities. One is that they came to find more information on the red paint splashed at my house and another that they want to take my statement about police reports against me. I will only know when I see them at the police station," said his text message.

The aide also denied rumours that Shuhaimi has already been arrested by police and has been brought to the Shah Alam district police headquarters.

Embroiled in a controversy

NONE Rumours of Shuhaimi's arrest ran rampant today after attempts to contact him over the raid rumours failed.

"He was at a KSSSB board meeting this morning," said the aide explaining away his boss not answering his phone.

The Sri Muda assemblyperson was embroiled in controversy after his blog posting last month which some say disparaged Malay rulers.

Police reports have been lodged against him by several Malay NGOs calling that he be "hanged", for "waging war against the Malay rulers".

Last week, the sultan has ticked of Shuhaimi over his blog posting.

"His (Shuhaimi) statement that the Selangor sultan was acting "beraja di mata, bersultan di hati" (arbitrarily) is extreme and can confuse the rakyat," said Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah through his personal secretary.

"His statement can be taken as being a warning to the Selangor sultan and an attempt to influence the rakyat into hating him."
