Anwar makes light of sex allegations

James Dean: Many people have asked me why I am such a strong Anwar Ibrahim supporter. If Anwar have been attacked so relentlessly with so much deceit, so much falsehoods and yet can challenge the BN, he is the man.

He is the man who can provide the kind of leadership needed to propel this nation forward. This kind leadership is so lacking since the days of Abdul Razak.

Anonymous _MN1324: He has a new advisor. The previous one kept telling him to deny, deny and deny. When confronted he lashed back, but now he makes fun of it. Good strategy, but he has to be sure he is innocent as the backlash could be permanent.

The question is why does he have so much problems with sexual matters if he is as pious as he makes himself out to be? Surely nobody would attack a pious person? Well, that is an answer for another day. Whether the people believe him is left to the ballot box. But poking fun at the sex allegations does not translate to what he can do for the people.

Ttloo: Anwar is now immune to sex allegations since the day he started to open up the can of worms in BN. Enduring all these attacks will make Anwar a better man.

Onyourtoes: Anwar, we don't care what they said about you anymore. But the most important thing is when you come into power, please do this country a great favour - govern justly and prudently. I think the people of this country have waited long enough.

I believe there is a purpose for you to go through all these nonsense. You cannot go lower. Get good and competent people around you to bring about real change for this country. This country could be greater than Singapore, Korea or Taiwan.

Go after all those who have plundered and bring them to account, every cent of it. We must forever set the tone that whoever steals and plunders while in power shall pay. No forgiveness of past leaders by present leaders and no forgiveness of present leaders by future leaders. It is mandatory to investigate and prosecute - write this into our constitution.

How can we ever let a bunch of depraved thieves who after plundering the country dry, called themselves nationalists and heroes.

'Oath-taking turns into a circus'

Cannon: Malaysians cringe in embarrassment and dismay to witness what is happening. Moral derelicts who openly admitted they are the persons behind the production and distribution of the sex videos in question, take an oath in God's name to accuse the actor in the video as guilty of acts of obscenity.

Moreover, the accusers show up in the mosque wearing bullet-proof jackets which show they are more afraid of men than God. We are reminded of the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commmission) security guard who, upon questioning by the RCI (royal commission of inquiry) investigating the death of Teoh Beng Hock on why he had failed to carry out his patrol on the night in question, answered that he was not led by God to do so.

What sordid use of religion. This regime has dragged religion through the mud and made a mockery of our country.

Boonpou: There are many reasons why I am not returning to Malaysia. The NEP, Ketuanan Melayu, Umno, corruption, and so on. I should also include in my long list my utter despise for certain low-life Melayu. I am not talking about decent and smart Melayu but these low-lifes, and they may include the majority of the civil servants, most definitely the police and army personnel.

Each time I take a trip home I always hope the plane will not have some of these idiots. They always have the same outfits - the so-called branded sports clothing. They have no idea that only hooligans and right-wing morons wear such outfits. But then again, it does fit them perfectly.

Cannon: Boonpou, you should leave Malaysia for the right reason. Rather than changing country when the going gets tough, you should help change the government. What gives you the right to criticise? You curse the people you leave behind and write off our country, while you take the easy way out.

Keturunan Malaysia: Boonpou, I agree with Cannon, you could have list your reasons for migrating for good in many ways but the way you did implied you are running away from the responsibilities of a true Malaysian who will fight and die for his country and people - for better or worse.

That's not all, you did it with a vengeance that borders on racism. Me? I am capable and in a position to flee at a moment's notice, but no I won't. This is ‘negaraku, tanah tumpah darahku'.

Cannon: Keturunan Malaysia, we don't make a ruckus about our race, as if it's the result of our choice we are born a Melayu, Chinese, Indian, or whatever. We are Malaysian by choice and race by birth.

We identify with this land of ours. We have partaken - benefitted - from the blessings and goodness of our land and our people.

As we critique what is not right in our midst, we do not forget our country, what it has done for us. We owe our people an obligation to make our nation a better place as a result of us passing through it.

Anonymous _MN1324: Cannon, and Keturunan Malaysia, I am certainly across the divide from the two of you politically, and I will make no excuses and have none.

But this time I have to say, I enjoyed reading both your comments - that as a Malaysian, whatever my affiliation, I am proud to be Malaysian. I get sick when I travel and meet another Malaysian who has migrated, and all he can talk about is how bad Malaysia and its people are, including bad mouthing a certain race.

Besides the things we agree to disagree, we are truly Malaysians and care for this ‘tanah air ku', no matter how much we fight each other. I wish all the sick politics can just go away, and in its place two groups of politicians ready to fight to serve us the people and not their self-serving needs. Good luck to all my fellow Malaysians.

Chandran Sukumaran: My Muslim friend told me that once you have taken the ablution to enter the mosque, one should be pure. I wonder why Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and his Datuk T colleagues wear bullet-proof vest in a place of worship?

Nicole: You are in a mosque and you are taking an oath to condemn another fellow Muslim and watched by hundreds of Muslims... and yet you say, God is ‘Maha Ampun', ‘Maha Penyayang'.

And the best of all, you say you were there when the sexual intercourse took place. Why don't you, as a true Muslim, stopped the act in the first place.

But like a professional pimp, you watched the whole show and fixed up someone. Wake up, my dear brothers. Stop this, once and for all.
