Tan Keng Liang KR1m milk challenge Tan ( right ) who had participated in a debate at the Pusat Rakyat in Bangsar immediately whipped a mug of chocolate malt which he had purchased from a KR1M outlet in Alor Setar for RM4.80, after the event concluded.

He said this was to put an end to the myth that the quality of KR1M products were inferior.

"I am supposed to do this in Alor Setar but since I'm here (in Kuala Lumpur) and he (Pua) has not been forthcoming in Alor Setar, I drink it in the presence of all," he said as the live streaming of the earlier forum continued to roll.

Pua had last month alleged that several KR1M products did not conform to food safety regulations.

The episode led to a war of words between Pua and Tan on Twiter with Tan promising to consume a mug of the KR1M chocolate malt on condition Pua pledges RM1,000 to a charity of his choice.

After taking a gulp of the drink, as the room of close to 100 watched, he cringed not because of the taste but because he forgot to cool to beverage first.

Following this, Tan said the drink was no different from Milo.

"It tastes the same like any chocolate drink but obviously not as good as those in Starbucks.

“Starbucks and Coffee Bean’s taste better but for the pricing (it's reasonable)," he said before gulping down the entire mug.
