Former DPM's son Tamrin Ghafar joins PAS
Former Umno leader Mohd Tamrin Ghafar, the son of former deputy prime minister Ghafar Baba, handed over his application for a life membership to PAS president Abdul Awang at the party’s headquarters in Taman Melewar, Gombak last night.

), he had long been thinking about joining PAS and he now is ready to “allocate his time and body” for the party’s struggle.
“It was not recently that I decided to leave Umno, it is not a hurried decision.
“Umno has left the tracks of defending the rakyat since the 1990s.
“Insya Allah (God willing), I shall give my support and wholehearted struggle,” he said.
Tamrin was the member of parliament for Batu Berendam in Malacca from 1986 to 1995 and was formerly the chairperson of Mara.
