Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin has outlined the “Seven Commandments of Victory for BN”, first of dictates that the grassroots must not to dispute BN's candidates list.

In his winding up speech at the Umno general assembly today, Muhyiddin said the seven commandments were based on his political experience and his seven years as party election director.

“First, obey your leaders. Faithfulness should and must be practiced.

“We should accept any decision regarding the general election whether they are tasks to be executed, the question of candidacy, and what seats are contested by component parties,” he said.

In addition, he urged party members to “fight to the end” and follow the example of the Muslim general Jaafar Abi Talib.

He recounted how he was martyred at the Battle of Mu'tah while trying to prevent the prophet’s banner from falling to the ground, despite being dismembered limb by limb until he was later cut in half.

Muhyiddin’s other five commandments are to form a sound strategy, understand the roles and duties that need to be done, understand the opposition, to unite, and being always-prepared to face elections.
