Shahidan, which ink supplier are you protecting?
YOURSAY ‘What is wrong now to reveal the ink supplier unless Umno has a ‘crony reason' to keep it a secret or to keep using it in future?'
Minister defends secrecy over ink supplier
Dudeno:
Why would people queue up to buy ‘food colouring' from this supplier when they can get it at any minimart?
In terms of the voters knowing the colour of the ink used, is Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Shahidan Kassim saying he is planning to buy more ink from this supplier which cost us RM7.1 million?
The minister is as intelligent as a plank.
Lim Chong Leong: "If we disclose (the ink supplier), they will all queue up and buy the ink, and then dip their fingers in it. They will then queue up at the polling centre and say, ‘I have ink, I don't need to produce my identification card'," said Shahidan.
This must top the whole load of bulls**t about elections and the indelible edible ink. Why would anyone want to ink themselves and get disqualified from voting?
The ink does not exempt any voter from producing their IC but to prevent such person from voting. This minister is really thinking we are idiots or he is one big idiot himself.
Viva Malasia: What are you talking about, minister? Who will go buy the ink, dip their finger into the ink and then get themselves disqualified before even casting their ballot?
Please talk something that make sense. Why open another can of s**t for people to stir?
Appum: Now you know why and how PM Najib Razak selected all his ministers and deputies. So that he will look good!
Paul Warren: Well, when as a food ingredient supplier if you were found to have supplied colours that have been labelled indelible ink, or even if the consumer has been led to believe that it was indelible ink rather than food colour that was painted on his finger, the ingredient supplier would have run foul of the law.
He, too, would not want his name leaked out.
Swipenter: And we thought that the last members of the last cabinet were quite brainless until we see some of present ones spouting nonsense like dimwits.
James1067: These leaders are not ashamed to take the public money to pay the supplier and protecting him for providing low quality ink.
The elections have come and gone and it was proven very clearly that the public did not get their money's worth but yet these politicians are going all out to protect the culprit.
Wira: Nonsense, Shahidan. Your level of stupidity amazes me. The Election Commission (EC) already mentioned that they were getting the ink from another source for the by-election which means this vendor is not to be used again because of the ‘non-indelible' fiasco.
What is wrong now to reveal the supplier unless Umno has a ‘crony reason' to keep it a secret or to keep using it in future?
YB Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli, can you please reveal in Parliament the name of the supplier? Even if you are not 100 percent certain, you have parliamentary immunity for saying so, just as the sole Gerakan MP did recently when he accused Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim of hoarding hundreds of millions of ringgit.
Gggg: Wira, good point. Who are they protecting? Was a crony involved? Was the price reasonable?
Did they really purchase the ink or just plain do-it-yourself (DIY) ink? Did they give it to their relative's company or their brother-in-law or just their neighbour?
Joker: Can a Kuala Besut voter do us a favour and sue Shahidan for defamation?
We Malaysians have suffered much in order to do our national service of casting a vote - we have had to do manual registration in order to qualify to vote (when other countries have auto registration), we have to check our status regularly in case we suddenly find our voting stations being changed without notice, we have to queue under rain or shine while the EC officers take their time to apply the (in)delible ink, plus sometimes eight of our votes are only equal to one vote in Putrajaya.
And now we are being accused of sabotaging and disturbing the election process? What a grossly unfair and illogical statement from a new MP.
Onyourtoes: From now on you are going to hear more of this term - "handicapped nation". Only a handicapped nation will continue to resort to secrecy as a weapon to rule over the rakyat.
Only a handicapped nation will continue to use detention without trial to solve crimes. Only a handicapped nation will continue to stifle the people's aspiration by resorting to all fake seditions.
Only a handicapped nation will shamelessly and blatantly apply double standards to all and sundry. Only a handicapped nation will continue to assume that the rakyat are ignorant and cannot think rationally and intelligently.
2zzzxxx: Only when people have things to hide need to keep things in secret. I don't know what is the big deal about this indelible ink.
So many countries have used it for decades. Only governments out to cheat need to hide behind the veil of secrecy.
My4Hope: A collection of statements by BN ministers will surely make it into the top list of jokes produced by politicians worldwide.
