MyWatch chairperson R Sri Sanjeevan, who survived a murder attempt, has finally been transferred to Serdang Hospital under heavy police guard.

The ambulance carrying him arrived at Serdang Hospital at 4.20pm today from Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban.

The ambulance was escorted by three police vehicles, which zoomed into the hospital's emergency area and at least seven police officers alighted from the vehicles and stood guard during the transfer.

NONE Sanjeevan was seen unconscious as hospital personnel helped unload his bed and took him into the hospital.

At least two police officers armed with shotguns have positioned themselves at the entrance to the emergency ward.

Other than family members, all others,, including members of the media and the public, were not allowed into the emergency ward.

Sanjeevan, 29, a hotel executive, was admitted to the Jempol Hospital shortly after he was shot in a drive-by murder attempt by two men at a traffic light junction inTaman Cempaka, Bahau, about 4.30pm last Saturday.

Disappointment over the delay

At the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban earlier, Sanjeevan's condition worsened because of internal bleeding, his father R Ramakrishnan said.

According to doctors who treated Sanjeevan, the shooting affected his heart and lungs, Ramakrishnan said.

"We've tried to whisper into his ear, but he didn't give any response and remained unconscious," he told Bernama when met at the hospital today.

NONE Ramakrishnan, 64, said his son had to be transferred to the Serdang Hospital in Selangor as there was no surgeon who could perform the surgery to remove a bullet from his ribcage.

Ramakrishnan, who stood vigil with his wife and three children at the Seremban hospital since Saturday night, expressed his disappointment over the delay by doctors in performing a surgery on his son, who was also having a fever.

Bernama also reported Sanjeevan's brother R Sri Mohanadass as saying that his brother was supposed to have left for Brunei yesterday on personal matters and expected to return to the family home in Kampung Taman Jaya, Bahau, in a few days' time.

Sanjeevan, who lives in Kuala Lumpur, returned to the family home at 7am on Saturday and left home after lunch to see a friend, said Mohanadass, adding that soon after that he received the call that his brother was shot by assailants.
