A lung infection is currently hindering the recovery of MyWatch chairperson R Sri Sanjeevan, who is still unconscious in the Serdang Hospital.

His father P Ramakrishnan told Malaysiakini that doctors are waiting for Sanjeevan to recover from the lung infection before they can perform surgery to remove a bullet lodged in his rib-cage.

“The lung infection has to go first,” he said.

However, Ramakrishnan said that doctors have claimed that the operation to remove the bullet is not so critical at this point in time.

“The bullet is still there, but the doctors have said that the bullet is not affecting any part of his body. So they want him to recover from the lung infection first,” he added.

Sanjeevan was shot by two men on a motorcycle in Jempol, Negri Sembilan on July 27, but survived the hit.

He was admitted to the Serdang Hospital six days ago and still remains unconscious.
