PAS has asked BN's Ketereh MP Annuar Musa to walk the talk over his urging for hudud law in Kelantan by convincing the federal government to allow its implementation.

NONEHowever, Annuar in an immediate response set a pre-condition that PAS must first convince its Pakatan Rakyat ally PKR to accept hudud law. DAP has no representative in Kelantan.

"They (PAS) need to resolve among their allies first before bringing it to Parliament, they cannot ask us BN, as their opponent, to join in but their own partner is not in agreement," Annuar told journalists at the Parliament lobby this morning.

Similarly, he said, PAS must finalise all the preparation for hudud law at the state level before criticising the federal government.

PAS had said that it was prepared to implement hudud law in Kelantan but cannot do so as without amendments to federal laws which the federal government refuses to endorse.

NONEEarlier, PAS vice-president Mahfuz Omar (right) had proposed a meeting with Annuar for him to be an intermediary to convince the federal government to allow for hudud law in Kelantan.

"I hope he will play an important role between the federal government and us in removing the obstacles to hudud law," Mahfuz told journalists at the Parliament lobby.

He said PAS was still discussing whether to table a motion in Parliament on hudud law but said it would be futile without the federal government's support.

If a motion was to be tabled, Mahfuz said, it would not be for a debate but for the federal government to give its endorsement for hudud law in Kelantan.

"If it's just a debate, then it is useless," he added.
