Pakatan Rakyat leaders have met and their consensus is to urge Selangor Mentri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to moderate his pay hike plan for state assemblypersons, opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said.

NONE “We decided to ask the mentri besar and the Selangor government to reconsider the decision and reduce the rate of increase.

“Specifically, we leave it to the discretion of the MB, but in principle, we agreed that this amount should be reduced,” Anwar said at a press conference at the office of the Opposition Leader in Parliament, after a meeting of top leaders of Pakatan Rakyat this morning.

Khalid ( right ) has come under fire since the state assembly last week okayed a pay hike , beginning next year, for the menteri besar, exco members, assemblypersons, the speaker and her deputy, which will range from 87 percent to 373 percent more than the current quantum.

Meanwhile, Anwar also announced that Pakatan will launch a massive campaign aimed at convincing the rakyat to reject the planned April 2015 implementation of the goods and services tax (GST).

The launch of the‘Understand GST, Reject GST’ campaign will take place on December 20, at Kelab Sultan Sulaiman Kampung Baru.

NONE It will be led by a representative from each coalition component party - PAS central committee member Dzulkefly Ahmad, PKR’s Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli ( centre in photo ) and DAP’s Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua ( right in photo ).

Meanwhile, he added that the coalition will also be forming a panel to stud the re-delineation proposal by the Election Commission.

The panel will comprise Kuala Krai MP Mohd Hatta Ramli, Nibong Tebal MP Mansor Othman dan Serdang MP Ong Kian Ming.
