So Umno is admitting it started May 13 riot

YOURSAY ‘Indeed, Umno never fails to threaten the Chinese with another May 13.’

Umno protesters: Does DAP want another May 13?

Tholu: All the ridicule aimed at the PM were in response to his glaring lack of apathy towards the economic plight of the general population. It is not about one race poking fun at another. It is about the rise of the cost of living that affects all the races.

Aren’t the Malays suffering as well due to the price hikes is essential commodities? It is obvious that the kangkung issue is being deliberately turned into a racial issue by Umno members.

And to invoke the May 13 bogey is highly irresponsible and is actually seditious. They talk about rude behaviour against the countries leader now. Did they protest when army veterans did the derogatory butt dance in front of former Bersih coordinator S Ambiga’s house?

Did they protest when then Penang CM Koh Tsu Koon’s photograph was stepped on in 2008? Did they speak against infamous cow-head protest against the relocation plan for a temple in Shah Alam in 2009?

Sali Tambap: Rumours had it during the GE13, that if BN lost, the military would step in and take over the government or some disturbances would be created and an emergency would then be declared and BN would be the caretaker of the emergency government and thus still cling to power.

History showed us that incident like the May 13 occurred when the governing parties performed poorly in the election. It nearly lost in GE13 - it lost the popular votes but won the electoral seats.

The posturing by Umno this time quite resemble the prelude to May 13 - a ruse for disturbances. True Malaysians should not allow this to happen again because it would be a loss-loss situation for everybody.

Sane heads should prevail and let the ballot box decides the outcome of the government. And of course, this applies to both sides of the divide.

Mr KJ John: Are these Umno leaders actually admitting that their elders knowingly started May 13? Then we need to adjust the history books to state the truth. Were these leaders even alive when it happened?

Ksn: May 13 is a tragedy in our history all Malaysians who love this country wants to forget. Is it not a direct intimidation to use that tragedy to threaten the opposition?

What does the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police) intend to do about these fanatics who should be silenced once and for all so that we can forget the sad episode?

If these mad people are allowed to carry with their sick ways, that will be encouragement to them to continue to vomit venom and threats.

Now, is this not the time for the PM, the DPM and the home minister to act?

Anonymous_4056: Politicians that lie the most are those from Umno. Demonstrators who behaves like gangsters and shows absolutely no respect for others are those from Umno.

Just imagined asking somebody if you want more May 13s - there is no respect for those victims of that infamous event started by Umno is simply beyond imagination and demonic.

Only those brainless Umno goons can stooped to such level. No wonder Malaysia is now hopelessly lost and has gone kangkung. Even BBC trending on it.

Open Minded: When someone is bent on creating trouble and uneasy feeling among the multiracial and multi religious populace, he or she will go to any extreme to meet the objective.

No non-Malay wants to resurrect the ugly incidents of our racial turmoil that happened on May 13, 1969 except the ultra and extremists elements within Umno and its faithful and hungry cohorts.

We feel our progress and prosperity depends on all of us and our only sole intention is to work towards it. We do not want to fight or create any animosity in the country because we learn from our mistakes.

We only ask for what is our right that existed so long but which has now become a big issue all of a sudden. It never posed any problem before but only spread love and peace.

Now a simple question is posed, who is the better person? Who is confused? The answers are obvious and do not need any elaboration.

If a government condones and shows partiality, the outcome can be anybody's guess but definitely, it will not be for the good and well-being of the nation.

No human being can claim superiority as it is just an illusion in the mind. With or without religion, a good person will always do good and an bad person will do evil, but for a good person to do evil, that sometime takes religion too.

Swipenter: Umno never fails to threaten the Chinese with another May 13. This goes to show that the racial riots of May 13, 1969 was deliberately started by those who always threaten the Chinese with another bloodshed.

CHKS: This is another racial sandiwara to divert the attention from the real issue of the nation’s economic woes. The very people who said DAP incited May 13 are the very people who are inciting another incident.

I think Malaysians of all races can organise a 1Kangkung flash mob to show that it is not that the rakyat are stupid enough to understand the PM's speech, but some leaders are too stupid to understand the rakyat's concerns.

Heavenly King: If another May 13 riot occurs, it will be different. It will be the Umno Malays against the rest of the Malaysians, including other Malays, Indians, East Malaysians and Orang Asli.

So, Umno leaders, better stop these idiots from spewing more poison.

Anonymous #20513663: Is Umno threatening to create another May 13 if the Malaysian people don't give in to their threats? Just like they started the 'Allah' issue?

Are they admitting to being the ‘dalang’ (puppet master) behind May 13? Is that the message they are trying to convey to the rakyat?

Ibi: What is MCA and Gerakan waiting for? This is a clear signal that Umno has gone radical and they should have the decency to leave BN unless PM Najib Razak reigns in these extremists.

Relak Aje: So now we know, by their own admission, who the culprits behind May 13 are. “Want some more?" Certainly not DAP.

Umno bent on sowing seeds of hatred
