PKR’s internal politicking is made worse by its leaders who refuse to claim responsibility for their actions, an Umno representative reportedly claimed.

Dengkil assemblyperson Shahrum Mohd Sharif ( left ) also told the party organ Umno Online that PKR and the opposition coalition as a whole are quick to blame BN for any problems, even if it took place under Pakatan Rakyat’s administration.

As an example, he pointed to the PKR deputy president Azmin Ali’s urging to stop speculation that Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim would resign, even though Azmin and Khalid do not see eye-to-eye with each other.

“These are all cheap political rhetoric. In actuality, many opposition leaders have a habit of not taking responsibility for what they have done (baling batu sembunyi tangan).

“They would raise an issue and then other people would be blamed, and Umno often becomes a victim to their slander,” he was quoted as saying.

Shahrum also criticised the running of PKR’s “embarrassing” party elections, saying that it proves that the party has no substance.

“They accused the Election Commission of not being transparent when conducting the 13th general election, but look what happened in PKR’s election. It is far worse.

“Nevertheless it is Umno that is accused of making an issue that their elections have failed,” he lamented, urging Pakatan to deal with their own problems first before finding fault in others.

BN differences are hidden

Meanwhile, PKR’s Seri Setia assemblyperson Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said that the differences between Pakatan does not undermine its ability to govern.

“(Pakatan) is not like BN where Umno is the most dominant among the other component parties,” said the Selangor legislative assembly deputy speaker.

He added that Umno, too, differ greatly on many topics with its compenent parties but this is not highlighted in the mainstream media.

“If difference is the measure, he should look at the long list of differing opinions within Umno itself or between the component parties.

“It is just that Umno/BN has control over the mainstream media, unlike Pakatan, so differences in Umno/BN are hiddent while Pakatan differences are blown up.”

Khairy earlier ridiculed Pakatan for not being able to solve the Selangor Menteri Besar tussle after more than a year.

He compared it to BN, which managed to solve the Terengganu Menteri Besar crisis within a week, and said it was proof Pakatan is not ready to govern.
