MCA today blamed DAP and its secretary-general Lim Guan Eng as the cause for Selangor government not having any non-Muslim state executive councillors following yesterday’s sacking of five DAP and PKR exco members by embattled Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

In a statement today, Wanita MCA chief Heng Seai Kie said Lim is to be blamed for "siding" with PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, resulting in the Chinese and non-Malay community losing their representatives in the state administration.

“It is because of Lim that the exco members representing the Chinese and non-Malay community have lost their positions.

“Due to his political shortsightedness, he has placed DAP in an embarrassing situation at the expense of the non-Malay community of Selangor,” Heng said.  

“I believe this not what the people of Selangor voted for, and now, thanks to Pakatan, Selangor has become the laughing stock of Malaysia and the international community,” she added.

Heng also repeatedly demanded that the sacked DAP and PKR excos "resign" from their positions, despite the fact that they have been sacked.

“Now that Khalid is not going off (resigning) after all, the DAP and PKR exco members should resign to indicate their principles. However, their unwillingness to accept their fate has only made the crisis even uglier,” Heng said.

The main concern of the exco members is for power and position, as shown in their refusal to step down even though they have officially been sacked, she added.
