Two Kelantan Selatan Development Authority (Kesedar) settlers have claimed that Kesedar had destroyed their 10-acre oil palm plantation without their permission.

The settlers from Paloh 1, Gua Musang, Abdul Ghani Yakob, 75, and Tuan Ab Rahaman Tuan Kechik, 68, had lodged a police report on Aug 13 to prevent any replanting activities on their oil palm plantation.

The duo claimed that they did not sign the replanting agreement form given by Kesedar in 2013.

“As such, Kesedar has no right to go ahead with the replanting activity on our plantation,” they said in the police report.

They were discouraged from signing the agreement as the replanting project will lead them to be in debt to Kesedar.

“The agreement also mentioned that we need to submit our land grant to Kesedar,” they said.

Meanwhile, Anak Peneroka Felda Kebangsaan (Anak) president Mazlan Aliman said although the police report was lodged earlier, Kesedar still went ahead with the replanting activity recently.

Mazlan said Abdul Ghani and Tuan Ab Rahaman had refused to hand over the replanting activity to Kesedar as they had wanted to work on the plantation themselves.

“They wanted to avoid being tied to Kesedar with never-ending debts,” he said.

Mazlan said they have called their legal aid to look at the contract between Kesedar and the locals.

“The lawyer is scrutinising this case from the legal point of view,” he told Malaysiakini.

Kesedar has not responded to Malaysiakini ’s emails and telephone calls on the matter.
